Documentation
Everything needed to connect. Your own username and password are in the dashboard under Proxies.
Endpoint
Connect to proxy.periproxies.com on the port for your protocol, and authenticate with your proxy username and password.
| Protocol | Port | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| HTTP proxy | 8000 | Works for http:// and https:// websites. HTTPS traffic stays encrypted end to end. |
| SOCKS5 | 1080 | For clients that need SOCKS5 (use socks5h so DNS resolves through the proxy). |
Password modifiers
Targeting and session behaviour are chosen by adding suffixes to your password. The dashboard builds these for you.
PASSWORD_country-GB: exit in the United Kingdom (recommended), rotating.PASSWORD_country-US: exit in the United States, rotating.PASSWORD_country-GB_session-order42: sticky session labelledorder42in the UK.PASSWORD_country-GB_session-order42_lifetime-60: the same, keeping the IP for 60 minutes (1 to 120). Without a lifetime a sticky session lasts 30 minutes.
Modifiers always go in this order: country, session, lifetime. Every proxy is used as host:port:username:password.
Rotation
Without a session label, an exit is selected whenever your client opens a new proxy connection. Requests sent over the same open connection use the same exit. Browsers and HTTP libraries reuse connections, so a page refresh may or may not rotate. A new connection triggers a new selection, but the selected IP is not guaranteed to differ from the previous one.
Sticky sessions
A sticky session keeps you on the same residential IP for the length you choose, from 1 minute to 2 hours (30 minutes if you do not choose). If the device behind it goes offline, you are moved to a new IP automatically, so check the exit if your workflow depends on it. Use one label per workflow, and separate labels for concurrent workflows.
Mobile proxies
Mobile proxies exit through real 4G/5G phone connections instead of home broadband. Many phones share each mobile IP, so websites are reluctant to block them. They work exactly like residential proxies: the same host, port, format and password modifiers. They have their own username, password and balance, bought separately under Top up. Pick Mobile at the top of the Proxies page to generate them. Mobile networks hand out IPs from shared ranges, so a sticky session can occasionally move to a neighbouring IP on the same network.
Country targeting
Country is the only targeting level we offer. We offer the United Kingdom (recommended) and the United States: use GB or US. If no exit is available in the chosen country the request fails, so try again or pick another country. Check the country you observe if it matters to your workflow.
Bandwidth and balance
You are charged for data transferred through the proxy in both directions. Generating configurations is free. When your balance is used up, top up to carry on.
Examples
curl --proxy 'http://proxy.periproxies.com:8000' \
--proxy-user 'USERNAME:PASSWORD' \
'https://ipinfo.io'curl --proxy 'socks5h://proxy.periproxies.com:1080' \
--proxy-user 'USERNAME:PASSWORD' \
'https://ipinfo.io'import requests
proxy = "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@proxy.periproxies.com:8000"
r = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=30)
print(r.json()["ip"])import { ProxyAgent, fetch } from "undici";
const dispatcher = new ProxyAgent({
uri: "http://proxy.periproxies.com:8000",
token: "Basic " + Buffer.from("USERNAME:PASSWORD").toString("base64"),
});
const res = await fetch("https://ipinfo.io", { dispatcher });
console.log((await res.json()).ip);Troubleshooting
- Authentication fails: check you copied the full password including any suffix, and that you have not reset your password since generating the configuration.
- Connection fails before authentication: check the port matches the protocol, and that your network allows outbound connections to it.
- Country requests fail: there may be no exit available there right now. Try again or use another country.
- Same IP twice in a row: expected. Rotation selects per connection and does not promise uniqueness.
